How to steal cages

The official loop is short. Walk up to a sleeping boss, take the cage, and get it home before the boss catches you. Open it at base. Ride the pet or send it to the barn.

Reported safe line (single-wiki source)

A player-written map says a red safe-zone line sits outside the spawn. Cages are beyond that line, and a tutorial arrow leads you across it. I have only that one detailed write-up for the line itself, so I am not drawing a map from it.

Recommended speed is a hint

Wiki A alone reports suggested cage speeds. Its map and training pages are the same source, with examples: about 4,000 near the bee area, 24,000 further out, 1.6 million in the snow, and 10 million deeper in. A hive cage is called out at 4,000. Another cage was marked 730 while the writer had 434 and still tried. A separate note says 483 was enough for a 730 cage and felt very tight. I keep those as reports, not as rules.

Tools while you run

The official description says you can lasso a thief and drop banana peels. That sentence does not establish that either tool affects a boss. No boss-slow effect, cooldown, hitbox or duration is verified in the reviewed sources.

What happens if the boss catches me?

One community World 2 guide reports that the egg or cage is taken back rather than left on the ground. That behavior is single-source.

Is the speed number a hard lock?

One player report says a cage marked 730 was taken at 483 speed and felt very tight. Treat the number as a hint.

Which escape badges exist?
